Sunil Aluvila is an innovator in marketing, product development, and the application of emerging technology in the vacation industry. For the past 19 years he has amassed extensive experience in market analysis; vacation club product development; e-business development; online marketing; development of interactive sales and marketing systems for customer acquisition, retention and value maximization; and development of strategic alliances with Fortune 100 companies. Sunil is a visionary and a strategic thinker with exceptional business acumen, leadership, marketing and management skills.
Sunil founded Vibes Interactive in 2005 to build and support a customer acquisition, retention and value maximization platform that connects vacation ownership and vacation rental companies with customers in inventive ways to deliver measurable results. As the President and CEO of Vibes, Sunil directs the company’s strategic planning, product development, online marketing, interactive sales and marketing solutions development and strategic alliances. He also serves as the liaison with Vibes’ advisory board and investors.
Under Sunil’s leadership, Vibes has developed and launched a suite of innovative interactive sales and marketing products for the vacation rental and ownership industry. Vibes completed development of Interactive Salesware in 2006, creating the first 100% web-based sales platform tailored for the vacation ownership industry to deploy multilingual interactive sales presentations and customer relationship marketing. In 2007, a joint venture was forged with Interval International (NASDAQ: ILG) to use Vibes’ interactive marketing platform to develop and support VacationSource.com, an aggregate tour generation and vacation rental portal for Interval International’s affiliate resorts. In 2009, Vibes launched VacationStorebuilder, the first advanced e-commerce solution that bundles an instant “VacationStore”(a property-branded, targeted microsite offered on a pay-per-performance model) with a complete online marketing toolbox and integrated booking engine for the vacation rental and ownership industry.
Sunil has held senior management positions heading vacation club product development, loyalty program and customer relationship marketing, e-business development, strategic planning and development of interactive sales and marketing solutions for Shell Vacations Club and Alton Leisure Industries. In the early 1990s Sunil served as the managing director of an international direct marketing company in India specializing in vacation ownership sales and marketing.
Sunil is the co-author of the article “If The Horse is Dead, Dismount!” published by the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) in 1999, which specifies how vacation ownership product and marketing practices must evolve to meet the needs of the 21st Century consumer. Sunil received his M.B.A. from Schiller International University, Florida with concentrations in international business and marketing, and received his B.A. from India. Sunil also has a Masters diploma in computer science and a course completion certificate in LLB (Bachelor of Law) from the University of Bangalore in India.
